Looking at the basics of OpenPGP #
This series of articles aims to teach the concepts of OpenPGP, mostly from the perspective of a user.
The main goal of these texts is empowerment. My underlying belief is that OpenPGP is much less complex and hard to learn than it might seem.
Please get in touch, if any of the content here is confusing, or if there’s material you wish existed, but is currently missing!
For more in-depth reading, see “OpenPGP for application developers” #
This site is designed as a counterpart to the text “OpenPGP for application developers” on openpgp.dev (I am one co-author of that text).
While this site aims for a broad audience, openpgp.dev is aimed at application developers who want to leverage OpenPGP in software projects. For readers who want to dig deeper into the functionality and concepts presented here, openpgp.dev is offering much additional material (and it is linked extensively).
Stateless OpenPGP (SOP) #
The “Stateless OpenPGP Command Line Interface” (SOP) is a vendor-agnostic standard for a standardized set of OpenPGP CLI functionality.
The articles on this site make extensive use of SOP as a learning tool, to play with OpenPGP key material and messages - and to get a sense of how these things work.
